MOBILE WEBSITES
Functionality and design is a key
combination when creating mobile websites – your “mobile” visitors are most
likely on the move, in a hurry and just require relevant content such as
your contact number, location, email address, opening hours etc.
..BUT they’re still going to appreciate a thoughtful design, which is
exactly what you get with one of our Mobile Websites. We’ll work with you to
apply your brand identity across to your mobile website.
Our designers will work out which parts of
your website to incorporate into the design and will suggest additional
features such as geo location, maps, device detection and redirection etc –
just leave it to us.
Standard of course will be click to call, email and SMS buttons and an
optional link back to your main website.
WHY MOBILE?
Mobile Phones are the New Internet ~ A recent survey of about 1,100 U.S.
adult smartphone users (not tablets, in this study) conducted by market
research firms Sterling Research and SmithGeiger sheds some light on why
Mobile is becoming essential for all business sectors:
*Two-thirds of smartphone users say a mobile-friendly site makes them more
likely to buy a company’s product or service, and 74% say they’re more
likely to return to the site later. “Mobile is creating massive
opportunity,” says Jason Spero, head of Google’s global mobile sales and
strategy.”
Here’s some more trends if you still need convincing!
Nearly half of all phones in North America & Europe are smartphones, and
they are rapidly becoming the go-to devices for mobile subscribers.
In the last 12 months, mobile searches have QUADRUPLED, androughly 1 in 3
mobile searches are LOCAL.
In a recent survey by Google, 61% of people interviewed said they would go
to a competitor’s site if your site is not mobile friendly.
For mobile price comparison shopping, 81% of users prefer mobile sites over
mobile apps.
Telmetrics has discovered that 95 percent of smartphone users conduct
restaurant searches.
The research also found that 90 percent of these users “convert within the
day,” meaning they go out to eat.
Perhaps more striking is the fact that 64 percent were found to convert
either “immediately” or “within one hour.”
These stats are a wake-up call for businesses who are not currently offering
a mobile experience to their visitors. If you’re not on mobile, you should
be.
MOBILE FEATURES
Mobile websites and their usage differ quite dramatically from their
desktop counterparts.
Mobile “surfers” tend to be more focussed and purposeful in their
requirements of your web content.
Mobile visitors are typically local, on the move and are looking for
something “actionable” your mobile website – which could be, for instance:
To get directions, find your opening hours, check for current discount codes
or coupons, research further product info or check stock availability, get
in touch with someone, support, customer service etc.
Mobile visitors generally do not want to know your business history, awards and achievements, staff profiles etc. Reserve this kind of info for your main website and direct your mobile visitor along clearly defined paths. Smartphone users are more likely to be responsive to coupons and offers – be sure to offer rewards to your mobile visitors and encourage them to share your offers socially. Treat your mobile prospects as VIP’s and you’ll build yourself a whole new lead generation system that you can market to time and time again.
WHAT WE DO
We make it our business to make your business more successful in the mobile
sector.
With the surge in mobile internet access it would be commercial suicide for
you to ignore the onset of mobile marketing. Mobile is here now, it’s
happening – Mobile is the New Internet, like it or not!
You need to ensure that your business can accommodate this exciting new
medium, indeed you need to prioritize mobile, because you can bet your life
that your competitors are!
We can advise you on various aspects of mobile marketing that will
exactly suit your needs, however, central to any mobile campaigns are the
mobile optimized website or even just a mobile landing page.
Mobile landing pages are ideal as a “mobile placeholder” whilst finalizing
your mobile website design, but more often than not, they’re strategically
crafted mobile web pages that serve content relative to specific offers or
campaigns and are not linked from the mobile website. Mobile landing pages
are often associated with QR code marketing campaigns.
YOUR NEXT STEP
The message is becoming blatantly obvious that mobile is taking
the internet by storm.
Ideally we’d love to help your business to embrace this opportunity by
offering you a free consultation with one of our designers or marketers.
Initially we’d evaluate your current online business and see how best to
adapt it to mobile.
Chances are that you may already have a web development service who manage
your existing website – don’t worry, we won’t “tread on their toes” – we
specialize in mobile and adapting to mobile, so basically all we need from
your existing web development service is the installation of a simple
“mobile detection script” that we will supply, that take less than 10
minutes to install. This allows a fast, lightweight version of your web
content to be automatically presented to users who visit your normal website
on their mobiles.
The secret to successful mobile websites is engineering them for the needs
of your local customers, which is why you generally need a “standalone”
mobile website added to the mix.
